The Movie Brazil As A Metaphor For Eating Ice Cream In A Nice Warm Summer Day
I want to preface this by saying that I really love the movie Brazil. If this was my review of the movie (which I will get to in the future) I would definitely be giving it a very high score. Alas, this is my review on Brazil as a metaphor for ice cream, and I have to say that I am very disappointed on that aspect of the movie.
This is one of those times when two good things don’t seem to merge. I love eating ice cream on a nice warm summer day too, but for some reason, I am very seldomly reminded of the movie Brazil when doing so.
As you already know, I try to approach these reviews as fairly as possible, so I tried to make a list of all the things that Brazil and eating ice cream on a nice warm summer day have in common. You can find that list below.

As you can see, there’s very little in the way of things that evoke eating ice cream in the movie Brazil. Of course, metaphors can be very subjective, and I invite you to leave a comment if you think I’m missing the cues. However, I seriously doubt that Terry Gilliam tried very hard to make us think about eating ice cream in a nice warm summer day when filming this masterpiece.
All in all, as much as Brazil is a science fiction masterpiece, it really misses the mark on this topic. Sorry, Mr. Gilliam.
